Burning Sky

Burning Sky is an Open World Action Adventure RPG still in development. I was part of a small team of around 20 developers contributing during the early-phase development of this new IP. Burning Sky takes place in a world of floating islands where Dragons can be used to explore, and battle sky bandits and a host of mysterious creatures.

I worked on this for around 4-5 months and during my time I performed the following roles:

  • Led the Design front in efforts to build Gym testing areas for the variety of mechanics that were getting added by the whole team.

    • Ensured that Gym testing areas were built in such a way as to prioritize ease of testing and rapid iteration for the whole team.

  • Utilizing Unreal Engine 5’s World Partition to build large Open Worlds.

    • Prioritized Playtime metrics, ‘distance to travel’ between events POIs, and distinguishable landmarks for player orientation.

  • Built Linear/Instanced Greyblock levels

  • Built Open World Greyblock encounters
