Burning Sky is an Open World Action Adventure RPG still in development. I was part of a small team of around 20 developers contributing during the early-phase development of this new IP. Burning Sky takes place in a world of floating islands where Dragons can be used to explore, and battle sky bandits and a host of mysterious creatures.
I worked on this for around 4-5 months and during my time I performed the following roles:
Led the Design front in efforts to build Gym testing areas for the variety of mechanics that were getting added by the whole team.
Ensured that Gym testing areas were built in such a way as to prioritize ease of testing and rapid iteration for the whole team.
Utilizing Unreal Engine 5’s World Partition to build large Open Worlds.
Prioritized Playtime metrics, ‘distance to travel’ between events POIs, and distinguishable landmarks for player orientation.
Built Linear/Instanced Greyblock levels
Built Open World Greyblock encounters
